Ranks - Illusive

Members of House Illusive receive automatic timebased promotions after 2, 4, 6 and 12 months.

Overseer
The Overseer is the leader of House Illusive and, as rumor has it, is a sentient computer program created by The Programmer, capable of temporarily taking over a person of its choice which then functions as its protective shell for a certain period of time. The Overseer possesses an unsurpassed level and speed of access to all information stored in the Network which enables him to set out long term large scale plans for new operations. Since the Overseer has mastered every aspect of the Illusive Network he has complete access to all aspects of the Network. It is rumored he even has gained knowledge of certain sections unknown to anyone else.

Mentat
The Mentat is responsible for the most important maintenance procedures of the Illusive Network to make sure that all systems achieve maximum reliability. In order to boost the efficiency of the Mentat's capabilities he has received upgraded cybernetic implants that allow for a faster interaction with all field operatives as well as the Illusive Network itself. The Mentat has full access to all sections of the Illusive Network of Security Epsilon and below.

Supervisor
Supervisors receive information from the Master Controllers about any actions undertaken by all field operatives. As such they can focus on filtering out the most important pieces of information and make sure that these receive special attention. Supervisors are very important for a smooth and efficient flow of information and hence they have full access to all sections of the Illusive Network of Security Level Epsilon and below.

Controller
Controllers are in charge of overseeing a segment of the vast amounts of data that pour continuously into the Illusive Network. Their job is to review the information, analyze its usefulness and to relay it to the other operatives in all Houses for further study or storage. Though Controllers are primarily reviewers of the information they can and may undertake action themselves immediately if a target of opportunity arises. Controllers have access to all sections of the Illusive Network of Security Level Delta and below.

Operator
Operators function as the personnel maintaining proper overview of all actions carried out by Hackers, Infiltrators and Enforcers. It is their task to coordinate the attempts as made by multiple operatives in order to achieve the most efficient solution. They are also responsible for relaying any useful results of these groups of operatives back to the Illusive Network. Operators have access to all sections of the Illusive Network of Security Level Delta and below though in some exceptional cases they can be given temporary access to sections with a higher Security Level.

Enforcer
Enforcers have virtually the same tasks as Infiltrators though they tend take a more aggressive approach. Some of the best Enforcers are known to be capable of reprogramming enemy identification codes, change coordinates in enemy tracking stations or even cause a total system failure in enemy bases and spaceships. Because they work at a somewhat larger scale Enforcers have access to all sections of the Illusive Network of Security Level Delta and below.

Infiltrator
Infiltrators use their own unique approach by focusing on masking their true identity and as such attempt to appear as a data stream familiar to the enemy. Their actions open up a vast array of new possibilities. Their most preferred course of action is the possibility of planting disinformation in enemy systems thus causing confusion at a much larger scale though these actions come at a considerably greater risk of detection. Infiltrators have access to all sections of the Illusive Network of Security Level Gamma and below.

Hacker
Where Watchers and Trackers mainly observe enemy operations Hackers take a more aggressive approach. Their task is to stall or destroy the capability of enemy forces to communicate efficiently. Due to the nature of their work Hackers usually work individually. They have access to all sections of the Illusive Network of Security Level Gamma and below though, in certain exceptional situations, higher access can temporarily be granted.

Tracker
Similar to Watchers Trackers log in on enemy computer networks to obtain information. Their interest is not to observe enemy data transfers in order to redirect the information they hold to the Illusive Network for further study however. Instead, they use the information streams sent out as a beacon to track down targets of opportunity such as bases or troops. Due to the more urgent nature of the information acquired Trackers have access to all sections of the Illusive Network of Security Level Gamma and below.

Watcher
Watchers are the lowest ranking field operatives. Their primary function is to access enemy computer systems in order to observe data streams and acquire information which is then relayed back to the Illusive Network mainframe for further study. Watchers have been highly trained in accessing and maintaining a link with enemy systems for prolonged periods of time without being detected. On the Illusive Network they have access to all sections of Security Level Beta and below.

Protector
Protectors have a double role where their primary function is to serve as the supervisors for whole groups of House Illusive members with the rank of Guardian or below and maintain a proper overview of all actions by these groups. Their second responsibility is to communicate all findings of field operatives to these members to make sure they receive the latest news updates about potential threats. Protectors have access to all sections of Security Level Beta and below.

Guardian
Guardians have received additional training which enables them to build in and maintain security measures within the lower sections of the Illusive Network so that these are protected against attempts by hostile forces to extract information. In order to carry out their tasks Guardians have upgraded access which grants them abilities within all sections of Security Level Beta and below.

Disciple
Apprentices who have completed their final project are promoted to the rank of Disciple and allowed increased access to the Illusive Network. These final projects usually entail the creation of a virus or information extraction program which can be used on enemy computer systems by higher ranking operatives in the field. Similar to Apprentices Disciples have access to all Security Level Alpha sections though additional access can be granted to them by their supervisor by special request.

Apprentice
Students who have passed their initial training sessions are apprenticed to a House member with the rank of Tracker or above. Students, as a test, must complete a final project given to them by their supervisor. They only have access to the lowest security areas of the Illusive Network and are granted a personal login code which gives them standard access to all Security Level Alpha sections.

Student
As their name suggests Students have not yet completed their initial training sessions in the use of various computer systems required to function as a full member of House Illusive. They are the lowest ranking members and are only given the most insignificant of tasks by higher ranking officials in order to gain experience. As such Students do not yet have their own personal login code for the Illusive Network but instead all use the same shared account.
